AWARDS CATEGORIES
The third annual 2012 LEEDership Award Program is composed of five awards categories: Outstanding Community LEEDer, Outstanding Projects of the Year, Outstanding Business of the Year, Outstanding Municipality and Member of the Year.
Each applicant must meet the listed criteria to be eligible for consideration; evaluation criteria is available via link to each awards category. All nominees will be evaluated on their demonstrated leadership, advocacy, and commitment to the advancement of the mission of the United States Green Building Council in the marketplace and in the community.
For all but the Chapter Member of the Year category, neither applicants nor nominee’s are required to be members of the local USGBC chapter, though the nominated business shall be located within the geographical boundaries of the Gulf Coast Chapter. This includes Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Sarasota, Sumter, Manatee, Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hardy & Glades Counties. Please note, the application fee for non-member applicants or nominees will be $100 -this fee can be waived if applicant or nominees join the Chapter.

Outstanding Community LEEDer
• Recognizes: An individual who demonstrates progressive initiatives and effort and a commitment to green building initiatives.
• Typical Nominees Include: Mayors, Commissioners, City Council Members, City Officials, Community Organization Directors
Outstanding Projects of the Year
• Recognizes: One project in each LEED Category that demonstrates a holistic approach towards project design and execution and development of innovative solutions to unique design challenges posed by the Central Florida Region.
• Typical Nominees Include: Public, institutional, or private projects of any size and type that has received LEED Certification as a New Construction, Existing Building, Core and Shell, Commercial Interior, School District, or Home project. One project shall be recognized as Project of the Year for each LEED rating category that is submitted.
Outstanding Business of the Year
• Recognizes: One business that demonstrates a commitment to green building initiatives and a culture of sustainability through the services and/or products that it provides and the way which it conducts day-to-day operations.
• Typical Nominees Include: All businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to sustainability
Outstanding Municipality of the Year
• Recognizes: One business that demonstrates a commitment to green building initiatives and a culture of sustainability through the services and/or products that it provides and the way which it conducts day-to-day operations.
• Typical Nominees Include: All businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to sustainability
Chapter Member of the Year
• Recognizes: An individual who demonstrates dedication to Chapter growth and betterment, commitment to educating membership base on progressive initiatives, or produce enthusiasm about green building practices in others.
