Credentialing Maintenance Program - GBCI
100 Level

LEED certified buildings are promoted as energy-efficient, but how are energy savings determined in operating buildings? The USGBC made changes to LEED 3.0 that place additional emphasis on energy-efficiency and actual building performance. New minimum program requirements require sharing energy use information with the USGBC; additional requirements are being considered.

The Building Performance Measurement class presents the basics of building performance measurement and why it is important to buildings designers and owners.
This class covers:
• Updates to LEED 3.0 and the new Minimum Program Requirements
• USGBC’s current Building Performance Initiative
• Measuring building energy use and comparing to other buildings
• Introduction to IPMVP principles as mentioned in EA c5 (NC)
• Methods to earn EA c5 (NC) / EA-c6 (EB)
• Methods to calculate energy savings and emissions reductions
