ASHRAE Chapter Dinner and Meeting Program: New Florida Building Codes

The USGBC Florida Gulf Coast Chapter is pleased to promote ASHRAE Southwest Florida Chapter's upcoming and timely program. Over dinner, their speaker, Albert W. LaPera, will discuss the new building codes and how they will affect design teams moving forward.

Your $35 registration includes dinner and programming. Click here to register!

At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:

1. Understand the architect's role and the impact of early design phase decisions in meeting IECC 2012 / Florida Energy Code requirements and in shaping a building's overall energy performance.

2. Incorporate the energy code's prescriptive requirements ‐ such as window‐to‐wall ratios, lighting power density, daylighting & skylighting, and automatic lighting controls ‐ as design strategies to not only meet the energy code but also reduce energy consumption and operating costs.

3. Lead their design teams in (the importance of) building performance simulation (energy modeling) and utilize the performance compliance path to meet the energy code requirements.

4. Understand how the energy code will impact the architecture of buildings, the energy code's prescriptive and performance compliance paths, when each is applicable, and be able to implement them on projects.

Please RSVP no later than Friday, September 4.
