The Fifth Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop will focus in 2010 on “Bringing It Home”; resource conservation solutions that include existing homes, sites, developments, and what can be done at the community, neighborhood, and individual level. Keynote Speaker is KC Hallett, U.S. Dept. of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory, “ The Energy-Water Connection.” Retrofitting our existing homes and sites is an emerging topic in the national, state, and local discussion on sustainability. Individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies will gather to learn and share:
  • Community solutions that address water, energy, and infrastructure demands
  • Water, energy, and resource conservation strategies and options
  • The relationship of water and building choices to energy, emissions and saving money
  • Information on water, energy, development, and land use
