Join us at our October 6th meeting to provide your feedback on the sustainability of Lee county related to public transit, land use, alternative fuel sources and water management.

New Horizon 2035 is Lee County’s vision-based comprehensive plan update process that is prepared every seven years in accordance with state growth management requirements. The Community Development/Planning Division is in the process of assessing past planning practices and establishing the County’s future vision, focusing on three critical issues facing us in the future  – Livability, Strengthening Connections, Community Character, and Sustainability.

The planning staff of the New Horizon 2035 will present proposed strategies in a series of workshops, which will provide the community the opportunity to provide feedback about the proposed strategies.  The feedback from these workshops is critical to ensure that the resulting report provides the proper direction for the County’s future.  The USGBC’s SWFL Branch will host one of these workshops to give members and the general public the opportunity to provide feedback in this critical process.
