Why do multinational corporations have green building goals that traverse their global building portfolios? Increasingly, companies aspire to support green building programs but are unsure how to begin. The session discusses initial goal-setting drivers, methodologies and continual evolution for green building program goals from the perspective of three very different international corporations. They will discuss their motivations and success in executing against goals for LEED Interior Design and Construction; and LEED Building Design and Construction; obstacles that had to be overcome when setting green building goals; and benefits they have seen from integrating LEED into building process. With a focus on Energy and Water Conservation, specifically meeting EAP2, EAC2 (BD&C) / EAc1(ID&C), and WEC1-3 this presentation will emphasize the importance of prioritizing and budgeting a company’s green building objectives so that green building goals can be met achieved within a business context. The material presented is derived from real world case histories and green building facilities experiences gathered by green building experts representing four companies, Starbucks, Intel, Colgate Palmolive and CH2M HILL, which are considered leaders in global green building design. The last discussion will be focused on the evolution of these goals.
