Building Green:
The General Contractor's Role

Terry Miller - LEED AP, Green Building Services, Portland

Successful green building projects have clearly-stated goals and a team that understands their individual roles and responsibilities. This training covers the general contractor’s role throughout the integrated green design and construction process, including:

  •           Defining the integrated green design and                 construction process?
  •           Team member roles
  •           Contractor responsibilities on LEED projects
  •        Tools to help you track your LEED projects
  •        Case studies and questions

As project manager of the Green Communities team, Terry directs GBS project teams and assists clients in the identification, assessment and implementation of sustainable development strategies. With a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, Terry brings to GBS a wealth of experience and education that will benefit clients who are eager to adopt sustainable plans.  He is the former program coordinator for the City of Portland’s Office of Sustainable Development green building program.
