   Internalizing practices of Sustainability

                    (4 hour session)

Operating a building has become an increasingly complex endeavor. With the growing awareness of sustainable practices, building occupants have higher expectations of workplace environments. At the same time, the rising costs of resources place extreme pressure on building owners, facility managers and property managers to operate buildings at top performance levels while keeping their operating costs low. The key to a building owner’s success lies surmounting these challenges. The first step is to understand the baseline of your buildings performance through energy and sustainability audits. The next step is to focus on  low cost/no cost improvements and to identify the required capital improvements. The third step is the successful implementation and documentation of all planned improvements. Using LEED-EB OM  certification as the potential goal, this class will take you through all the steps necessary to better understand the process.
