LEED 259: Best of Greenbuild: Standard Practice, IgCC, CALGreen & LEED

This session will present the tools and education resources being developed collaboratively by AIA, ASHRAE, USGBC and the ICC. Are green codes any better or harder than LEED?  What makes CALGreen different than the IgCC?  These questions and many more will covered in this session.  The AIA will also present challenges and resources the AIA , USGBC and ASHRAE are preparing to help our members understand high performance design.

Session Objectives
  • How do High Performance Building Codes including the IgCC and CALGreen Compare with 3rd Party Rating Systems and how will permitting processes change?
  • What are the biggest obstacles to successful adoption of a green building Code in any jurisdiction?
  • How are architects, engineers and code officials preparing for practice under high performance building codes and what other resources are available?
  • What are the legal challenges for licensed architects practicing under the new high performance codes and with LEED v3 project registration and certification?
