Principles 250: Principles of LEED for BD+C and ID+C, Energy and Atmosphere

Learn from USGBC’s LEED subject matter experts and GBCI reviewers as they explore the key concepts in the Energy and Atmosphere credit category of the LEED for Design and Construction rating systems. Specifically, we’ll discuss energy modeling, energy metering, commissioning, and more. This session is aimed at LEED APs with a working knowledge of a new construction LEED rating system, looking to improve their understanding of the LEED certification process and how to maximize success.

Session Objectives
  • Comply with commissioning prerequisite and credit requirements
  • Identify correct baseline for proposed case input for energy modeling
  • Consider energy modeling as holistic design tool
  • Prepare for energy metering requirements to measure performance
  • Identify strategies to increase energy performance
  • Identify the possible roles of a LEED AP for success with credits related to Project Systems and Energy Impacts

This session is approved for 1 LEED Specific (BD+C, ID+C) GBCI hour as well as 1 AIA/CES LU/HSW/SD hour.
